Scott is excited to return to Orange Lawn Tennis Club as Director of Racquets! In addition to his role as director of racquets, Scott serves as Vice President of Camps and Recreation of WS Hospitality Group.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in a “tennis family.” After a successful competitive career, at the age of 22 Scott accepted the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Wallace State College located in Hanceville, Alabama. In his second season as Head Coach, Wallace State College won both the 1995 Men’s and Women’s National NJCAA Titles, earning Scott the USPTA National College Coach of the Year Award. The following year, the Wallace State College Men’s Tennis Team won the 1996 National Championship, capping backto- back National Championships for the Men’s team.
In 1996, Scott became the Head Tennis Pro at Plainfield Country Club, where he worked for three seasons before accepting the position of Director of Tennis at Bay Head Yacht Club. In 2001, Scott accepted the position as Director of Tennis here at Orange Lawn Tennis Club. He served the club in that capacity for 13 years until 2013 when he was drawn to the warm climate of south Florida. From 2013-2018, Scott served as Director of Tennis at Fisher Island Club in Miami, Florida. Scott oversaw all facets of the tennis program, including managing approximately 20 staff members, being involved with ordering and inventory control at the Pro Shop, conducting private and group lessons for all ages and ability levels, as well as coordinating and organizing an extensive schedule of tennis events and tournaments throughout the year at the Club.
Scott and his wife, Nicky, have been married ten years and reside in West Orange, NJ.
